Monday as I was getting Devin dressed I noticed his right big toe was pretty red and kinda swollen but I didn't think too much of it...thinking that maybe that he hit it on his bed or something. But just after breakfast I noticed blood on his sock, his toe was now bleeding and pussing...it was gross! So I called our pediatrician but there just wasn't a good time as it's an hour there and back, so I just opted to take him to Insta-Care
again, where I was told his toe was very infected and possibility that the nail is in-grown, but that it was hard to tell when the toe was so swollen, and we left with a prescription for and antibiotic. So we headed across the street to Walgreen's where Devin started melting down...very loudly, on the upside our 15-20 minute fill time took less than 10! I don't think they appreciated his volume either. By the time we got home it was lunch, nap and on with our day! I had to wake Devin from his nap as we were meeting with his new Child Development Specialist(who will attempt taking over his feeding therapy, but said she'll most likely refer him to primaries feeding therapy program, and be a "general all around therapist") and our service coordinator from Davis County Early Intervention(DCEI), to get all his therapy up and going again. He is also scheduled to meet with his new Speech Pathologist who is also a licensed Psychiatrist and can also do behavior therapy with him. YAY! She is also involved in the PLAY Project so he'll be doing that with her as well. He is also still going to have an OT, and be involved in a sensory play group. So all in all I think the move up to the DCEI was a good one as Devin is not only receiving Occupational, physical, speech and feeding therapy, he's also getting behavior and sensory therapy as well, and will get to be involved in the PLAY Project which I've heard wonderful things about and am excited to have him get to be a part of. It was a great visit! For School we obviously have been talking about Valentine's Day and showing love. Elizabeth wrote LOTS of valentines and read some valentine's stories. Tuesday was dance and tumbling where one of her new friends handed out valentines, and Elizabeth was SO excited about it! I'm a super slacker mom and didn't even think about bringing valentines :/ Ah well maybe I'll be more on the ball next year. Thursday was of course the big Valentine's Day! After breakfast I got pictures of the kids in their cute shirts, then I gave them their present with a new valentine's book and little valentines toys(that we got half off last year) they looked at their books and played with the little toys for a while then we watched "Happy Valentine's Day Charlie Brown" on Netflix then we went to the table and colored the fun little valentine's cards they got in their present. Then we read lots of fun valentine's stories, and had lunch...Devin had his usual, but Elizabeth had a heart shaped sandwich that she was thrilled about!! After Devin was down for his nap the party really started. Elizabeth did lots of fun valentine's learning worksheets and crafts and art and even games! She even read a couple valentine's books to me! It was lots of fun!! After snack and t.v. time, Elizabeth heard my cousin Sarah doing her violin lessons and
had to make a valentine for her, and since she knows Sarah loves girly stuff she insisted on putting lots of glitter on it. :) When Sarah was done with her lessons we went up and Elizabeth gave her the pretty valentine and a big hug too! Then the kids gave Nana the valentine's they made for her and we stayed up stairs and waited for Papa to get home and gave him his as well. Tony picked up a take and bake heart shaped pizza for dinner which Elizabeth was quite excited about as well. We gave the kids a valentine's bedtime snack and put them to bed. Tony got valentines from Elizabeth which she did all by herself, and I helped Devin make one for him as well. Tony put a sweet card for me on my pillow...I sure love this wonderful life I've been blessed with and I absolutely adore my cute kiddos and sweet husband! It was a fantastic Valentine's Day.
Friday my fabulous cousin Mary came down at 11am to watch my kids while I went with my parents to the RV show. After wondering in and out of RV's for a couple hours we went over to Jordan Commons and my parents treated me to a delicious lunch! Then we met up with Tony and looked at trailers that we'd love to be able to have if only we could afford or pull any of them! But it's always so much fun to look and dream :) After I walked my legs into a state of jello my parents treated us to dinner at Joes Crab Shack...YUMMY!! Then Tony and I hit up a Target down there that had Thomas the Train swim trunks and rash guard on sale for Devin who at the moment doesn't have a swimsuit that fits. We also picked up some stuff form the dollar bins(some for 50% off!) and a white sweater to go with Elizabeth's Easter dress. Then we headed over to Walmart and scored lots of great Valentine's Day stuff for 50% off I got a yummy box of chocolates and we got some cherry gummy hearts and lots of fun stuff for the kids next year! While there we also saw a nice outfit for Devin for Easter but they didn't have his size in the one we liked so Tony dropped me off at home and went to look at the Syracuse Walmart...with no luck. When I got home I was thrilled to hear Mary tell me that the kids did great and everything went well. I gave her the valentine's the kids each made for her and the box of chocolates we picked up for her as a thank you. Saturday Tony took the kids when they woke up with him to get gas in the car and even picked up breakfast sandwiches and donuts from Madbrooks! YUMMY!! After breakfast we went out to the Layton Walmart and found the
PERFECT Easter outfit for Devin, and a few more valentine's stuff. We got lunch and headed to Taylorsville to drop the kids off at their Aunt Ketty's to watch them while we went to Desert Star, but not until after our good long visit. The show was Kicking the Hobbit, Bored of the Rings, neither Tony or I are real big into that kind of stuff so many of the jokes were lost on us but we did enjoy watching them crack each other up and it's Desert Star so it's
always a
good time! Oh and we got sat in the wrong seats so about 5 minutes into the show the manager asked to see our tickets and apologized that we had accidentally been seated in the "optional table" that is hardly used and showed us to our actual table which we were able to see much better from. :) After the show we went to Applebee's for dinner. We really
really enjoyed our time together without our wonderful kiddos, we got a lot of good conversations in! And it was a much needed break for me, being with them all the time was starting to wear me down a bit, so I especially appreciated the two days in a row getting a break to recharge. Sunday we drove down to Taylorsville again to visit out old ward we love and miss so much. It was really nice to go back and visit and we were warmly welcomed with open arms everywhere we turned! After church we spent some time visiting with my parents and their home teachers, then they invited us to have dinner with them as well which we did and it was very good! And that was our week! Enjoy all the fun pictures!
