Back To School

After Elizabeth's birthday celebrations we got back to life and started school up, and with that came a huge schedule change, that was hard for the kids to transition to, but they've settled into now. We start our day with breakfast then getting dressed then we sit in the living area and have what I call Circle Time. We sing a primary song, say a prayer, recite the week's Article of Faith, read a chapter in the Book of Mormon Stories, then say the Pledge of Allegiance, pull out the calendar go over the days of the week and months of the year, then we do weather. Then each week we have a theme we read and learn about like "all about me", "hibernate, migrate, adapt" or "Fall". Then it's history(on Mon) or science(on Tue/Wed) which the kids do together, then it's morning break until lunch. After lunch Lizzy does typing, Spanish, math and language arts, while Devin does learning games on his kindle, then they switch. In the afternoon they usually play with friends outside at our place, their place or the playground. They come in just before dinner to clean up their room, then when Tony gets home we have dinner. It's a good schedule and school is working out even better than I thought it would! I love when that happens!

Decorating their folders for each day. (we school Mon-Thurs)

The first week's theme was All About Me, so we did some fun activities each day.

Lizzy putting together her new Lego set.

Lizzy's 8th Birthday!

On Lizzy's actual birthday we just stayed at home, Lizzy wanted to have a pj day so we did! I made her favorite breakfast and lunch and she asked to have pizza for dinner so we ordered her a gluten free pizza from Pizza Hut. I baked brownies and used orange frosting per her request. We just played and had fun all day!

Gluten Free waffles with LOTS of Nutella! While watching something on her kindle.
Recording herself singing and dancing karaoke to Disney songs!

Playing with her new dolls and theater.

 Playing with balloons

 Even Emerson got a chance!

 Present time.
 This was from Devin
The rest were from us(we had them put away for her birthday)
Stitch cup that says, "Always be yourself, unless you can be stitch, then always be stitch!"
A year in my life book, it's like a journal with prompts.
Some Beanie Boo bows and Daddy's Girl bracelet set.

Elizabeth's Baptism Pictures!!

Here are the pictures I took of Elizabeth in her baptism dress at the Denver Temple. She truly is our gorgeous girl!!

She loved all the beautiful flowers!

 IT'S GREAT TO BE 8!!

 Ya she's actually reading...

 I love this picture!

She had to find where she had left off, so she could keep reading on!
Stopping to smell the roses! :)
Behind the temple where the sun wasn't shining right on us.

I know it's from the exposure of the camera but she looks like she's glowing like an angel!

The many faces of Lizzy! She can be such a goofball! :)

Scripture Power! (she naturally had to sing it for us)

Devin was off in his own world the whole time, but did pretty well.

Lizzy reading the scriptures to Devin to help him calm down when he got upset.

I love these pictures but I didn't notice she put one leg up on the tree so she looks like she only has one leg! :/ She's still beautiful though of course!

She really wanted pictures by the fountain, even though it was super bright.

 Gorgeous girl...gorgeous temple...gorgeous day!!!
She of course had to feel the water.

She made a hand print :)
