Christmas Eve--Getting Ready For Santa!!!

After the party we came downstairs and put the kids in their new adorable pj's from the elves, set out milk cookies and carrots on our nice new Disney Santa plate. We put the magic key on the door, Tony read "Twas the Night Before Christmas", we watched the last day of our awesome dvd nativity countdown, that really helps us stay focused on Christ during the Christmas season. Then it was off to bed to fill their heads with dreams of sugarplums!

 Lizzy was so good at reading the scriptures each night on this dvd countdown. The last video is the story of our Savior's birth as told in the book of Luke. Best Christmas Eve tradition!!

Christmas Eve--Holbrook Family Party!

The next week was full of anticipation and excitement as Christmas was on Friday! Lizzy was supposed to have a med check with her pediatrician that Tuesday, but it was another very snowy...bad weather day, so I called and rescheduled for the beginning of January. On Christmas Eve my mom the kids and I went to breakfast at McDonalds, so they could get some energy out in the play place, and kill some time too! After that we came home and just played and did Christmasey things. The evening was my mom's party, with the traditional Southern comfort foods! MMMmmmmm grits, ham and buttered Texas toast!! She also made jambalaya of course which is always a big hit with the guys! Then it was present time, which was on a much smaller scale since the trip to Disneyland was their main gift.

Walker Christmas Party!

Saturday December 19th in the afternoon at my grandparents' house we had a fun Christmas party! The kiddos got spoiled! Devin was having a really hard time and eventually just went to sleep. Even after he woke up he was not in a party mood, but nothing cheers a kid up like presents!! ;) Lizzy was in super fine form! She was patient, thankful and helpful! It was AWESOME! It was nice to be with family and visit with my cousins and aunts and uncle.

Snow Much Fun!!!

So after we got back from the very warm California, winter hit hard! It snowed like CRAZY!! Lizzy's theater class had to move the holiday party to later in the week because of the bad weather, but I was grateful. I only have to drive less than ten minutes and I didn't even want to make the short drive! When she did go she said it was "tons of fun with candy canes on top!" The kids of course LOVED playing in the snow! Devin had no aversion to it at all this year. YAY! The rest of the week was just watching Christmas shows, reading Christmas books, listening to Christmas music and of course doing lots of fun Christmas arts and craft projects! Oh and on Friday Devin got his hair cut!
