Christmas Extravaganza Week!

Ok so I'm unbelievably behind with blogging, but in my defense our life has been SUPER crazy, and the twists and unexpected turns in life just never seem to stop!  So here is our super fun week leading up to Christmas, Monday through Thursday Elizabeth did lots of fun Christmas arts and crafts and games and such...Devin didn't take interest and I don't force him to participate if he doesn't want to.  Monday we started with the traditional gingerbread house which is always so much fun(I made sure this year to get one that doesn't have to set over night)  Tuesday we did Zoo Lights with our friends/neighbors, Elizabeth loved having her friend Liza there!  We went to see Santa first and I was impressed with how well Devin took it! I think it helped Elizabeth was right there with him and he did insist on having his binky with him but he was good the whole time, Elizabeth talked Santa's ear off. ;)  They mailed their letters then we had a quick dinner then went and saw all the fun light displays!  We were all pretty frozen by the end but it was so much fun it was very worth it!  Friday I packed our overnight bags and the kids and I drove up to my parents', Tony had one of his co-workers drop him off.  Jen was up there with Daniel and we helped my mom get some things ready for the family party Saturday.  The party went pretty well, Elizabeth was having some dramatic moments at first getting far too caught up in the presents aspect of the party so I sat her down and had a good talk with her.  I asked her what Christmas was about and she rattled off the nativity story and that we should remember Jesus not think about presents we might get.  Then we talked about the people in the world who don't have a family to have a party with or good food to eat or a warm house to live in, and once she had thought about how very much she's been blessed with in her life, her attitude did a 180 and she was very pleasant and patient throughout the rest of the party.  Lunch was delicious! Tony made his yummy cheese and broccoli soup and there was lots of other yummy stuff as well!  When Devin was done refusing everything we tried to give him and ate some of his applesauce pouch he announced he was ready to go  "nigh nigh", so Tony took him up and put him to bed.  Elizabeth did so well during the presents I've never been more proud in my life!  Through a slight mix up everyone was given their presents from our grandma except us, but instead of whining or complaining about it Elizabeth went around picking up everyone's tossed wrapping paper and putting it in the garbage sack! Then just came back and sat back down.  I told her what an amazing thing it was then gave her a special treat.  We got our gifts shortly thereafter.  She didn't once ask me if she had more presents coming, she just seemed content with what she had been given.  Seriously proud mommy moment.  Devin woke up and when Tony went to get him found that he'd thrown up all over, and wasn't very into the party setting so he ended up "hiding".  And that was our Super fun week!

My mom and I did the 12 days of Christmas for Elizabeth with little craft or art things or games, I put the gifts under her little Christmas tree.

The Sunday before Christmas we went and visited with Tony's grandparents, and the kids were super cute with them, and their doggie statues!
