Saturday was nothing special Tony went to the storage unit and brought back our Halloween boxes, and he also got my parents decorations down out of their garage so my mom could get her decorating started. While Devin was down for his nap my mom kept an ear out for him and Elizabeth and I went to the library, and found some fun Halloween books(and some other books too!) and even a couple of Halloween movies! Sunday Devin had a little cold so we stayed home from church, but used that time to decorate for Halloween! And the kids had such fun with it too! They were a lot of help decorating this year!
Watching a Sesame Street Halloween movie we borrowed from the library.
Monday the 30th Devin had OT in Bountiful in the morning, and that afternoon Elizabeth had another appointment at The Children's Center in Salt Lake, so lucky Mary got to watch both the kids that day! ;)
Tuesday, the first day of October(yay I'm officially posting about the actual month we're in!) Devin started a Music Play group through Early Intervention, so my wonderful cousin Mary came and played with Elizabeth. And Tuesday evenings are Elizabeth's piano and Devin's tumbling class. Wednesday afternoon Devin had Developmental therapy and Thursday was just Elizabeth's tumbling class and Scout den meeting. Friday Devin had Behavioral therapy, which did not go well....Devin is in a downward sensory spiral, which is making his behavior extremely difficult most of the time, so she too suggested we start doing more for Devin in terms of his sensory diet and surroundings. So we are now in the process of turning his little bedroom into a sensory room, and buckling down on his sensory diet.
Here are some pictures of a typical school morning.
This is how I'd like them to be....
This is how they are more often than not...
Saying the Pledge of Allegiance.
Checking the weather.
Doing math, getting the hang of addition.
Unscrambling her spelling words
Reading Nate the Great(that she read all by herself all the way through in just 5 days! I had her read it to me so I could make sure she got all the words right and we worked on things like pausing quickly after comas, and pausing after periods, and noting question marks and exclamation points, things like that)
I let the kids watch Madagascar 3 while I packed us up.
That afternoon I packed us up, Tony got off work early and we drove my parent's pilot up to Hyrum State Park, where they and Tony's parent's were staying for conference weekend, and we joined them as has come to be tradition. Usually we go to the BYU vs. USU game but we were unable to acquire tickets this year so we just listened to it on the radio instead. The kids really enjoy spending time in nana and papa's motorhome and grandma and grandpa's fifth wheel too! So having them both at their disposal made for a very fun weekend, not to mention getting to ride their bike/firetruck ride on, around and around the campground! Though they both struggled with some behavioral issues, it was a good time overall. Saturday we watched the first little bit of conference then left our kids with my parents and went out to hit up the outlets. We went to Pepperidge Farm first and scored bulk goldfish crackers, and some cookies, then we went to Gossener's and stocked up on flavored milk, and got some yummy squeaky cheese, After that we stopped by the Aggie Bookstore and picked up game day shirts, and a new hoodie and license plate frame for me! Then we went back to the motorhome to save my parents from our kiddos. ;) We watched the second session of conference while our parents went for a beautiful drive up the canyon. After dinner we took the kids to Aggie Ice Cream, and we got there at just the right time as the flood gates seem to open just as we sat down to eat our delicious dessert! Sunday we watched the morning session then packed up, turned the motorhome from "home" to "car", and listened to the second session of conference on the way home. And that was our fun conference weekend in Logan!
Sunday Devin woke up with some serious bedhead!
