Devin's 3rd Birthday Weekend!

Saturday March 1st we invited my parents, Tony's parents and Jen and Daniel to come to Chuck E Cheese's to celebrate Devin's birthday as he expressively did not want a birthday party, where he was a the center of attention. The kids all had so much fun! Devin being OCD and all played each game or rode each ride once before repeating any, love that boy! I was only feeling slightly better, and trying not to spread germs so I touched the kids as little as possible and sanitized constantly, eventually it was all I could do to just be there! After about an hour or so of fun we had the kids stop for lunch, Elizabeth ate a couple pieces of pizza and Devin drank his pediasure, then we let him open his presents so Tony's parents didn't have to stick around if they didn't want to. After opening presents the kids went and played some more. Even little Daniel had quite the fun there! Like Devin's first time there (at barely two so only a few months older than Daniel is) Daniel's favorite ride was the Chuck E Cheese car! After a little while Devin was getting over stimulated and overwhelmed as it was pretty busy, so we didn't actually end up staying very long, but as we had plenty of leftover tokens we promised our kids we'd come back soon. We said thank you and good bye to Jen and Daniel (me from a distance) then we drove to downtown Salt Lake to go to the Build a Bear in the Gateway Mall. We had a couple coupons and gift cards so we thought Devin would enjoy it for his birthday. And he did! He knew just what he wanted a super soft golden doggie, which he enjoyed stuffing and washing.  Elizabeth, the spoiled girl she is even got to stuff Treasure the Palace Pet(she's Ariel's pet apparently). Devin got a leash and matching little puppy stuffed animal and brush for his dog which we named Budderball(one of the buddy's puppies, from movies like super buddies) We then made a bathroom break then took a Trax train to Citycreek, that was a highlight for the kids! At Citycreek we went to the Disney Store for our replacement Disneyland trip(we had planned on going to Disneyland in May but decided to use the money in more effective ways)we let Elizabeth pick a princess dress, and she chose a Rapunzel dress, and matching tiara. She also got the animation Aurora doll. Devin got a couple fun figurine play sets, one of Jake and the Neverland Pirates and one of Monsters University, he got a talking Firefighter Mickey, a Planes' ball cap, a Cars umbrella and a couple Disney t-shirts. It was so much cheaper than Disneyland! But the kids still had a ball, and came out with some fun things! Then we took the train back to Gateway for another bathroom break then we went to dinner at Iggy's, Devin didn't pick because he didn't care where he drank his pediasure! I couldn't hardly swallow so I just wanted something I could box up and eat later.  Sunday Devin got to take it easy and play as I still wasn't feeling well, so I rested most the day. Just before lunch Tony took Elizabeth to our niece Madison's blessing, then came home and ended up going to Insta Care himself with Strep...it was honestly his own fault though I tried to tell him not to kiss me or even worse share my drinks but he didn't listen and ended up with it, not as severe though. That night my parents kindly provided dinner. Monday Tony used his sick note from the dr to stay home from work and Monday was most importantly Devin's 3rd birthday! This year he was 3 on 3-3! This won't happen again until he's 33 on 3-3! Devin doesn't have any favorite foods so we can't cop out and just do that special thing on his birthday, so since Tony was spending the day with us we decided to take the kids back to Chuck E Cheese's as it's much calmer on weekday mornings! They had hours of fun, and Elizabeth went around winning jackpots and bonuses left and right! Devin was even excited to see and dance with Chuck! It was definitely a fun birthday thing for him! On our way home we got the kids Happy Meals(Devin's just for the Lego cup as he didn't eat a bite of it). In the afternoon he had OT in Bountiful and really struggled, and didn't open up until about 3/4ths the way through the session, then was all upset it was time to go. :( While we were in Bountiful we stopped by Cookie Cutters and got his hair cut, he really loves that place! After that his only request was to play the ipad so play the ipad he did! After dinner with my parents we let him open his presents from us and Elizabeth, which he loved all of! Then I frosted and put candles in the cake and let him blow them out. He then played with his new toys and was a very happy birthday boy! All in all I think he really enjoyed his birthday!

Fun at Chuck E Cheese
