Last Wednesday was Elizabeth's last day of swimming lessons, she learned so much and improved a lot! She's not quite swimming on her own confidently yet so I'm going to have her repeat this class so she's more confident before moving to the deep end!(honestly this is probably more for my comfort than her lack of ability ;) ) She really enjoyed going down the water slide and even got an otter pop at the end! Saturday we dropped the kids off with Ketty at their church for a pancake scout fundraiser breakfast thing...which Elizabeth could not have been more excited about, that girl LOVES pancakes!! Tony and I grabbed some breakfast then went to meet with our financial adviser again to follow up on a few things. Then we did our grocery shopping before picking up the kids. We stopped by a Payless shoe store to look for some new summer shoes for the kids, but the one we went to didn't have the sizes we needed so they called and told us the one in Layton would be more helpful so we got Elizabeth some lunch then drove toward home stopping once more and getting the shoes we needed along with some Angry Bird sneakers for Devin next fall(that were on clearance!!) which he was so happy about! I swear our kids feet are growing non-stop!! After that fun adventure we headed home and let the kids play in the backyard while Tony and my dad started some demo for the deck they'll be building over the next several weeks. My parents graciously ordered pizza for dinner for all of us and it was delicious! The kids watched a movie downstairs while we watched one upstairs. It was a very productive, great day. Sunday our kids were coughing and had low grade fevers so we stayed home and cleaned and rested. That evening Jen and Daniel came up to celebrate Daniel's 2nd birthday! Tony cooked a roast and rolls which was very yummy. Then we got right to letting Daniel open his presents. It was nice to see them and play and visit.
This week started out super busy! Monday evening was Elizabeth's piano recital at the Ogden Bravo, my parents joined us in listening to her play Morning Mood. Playing on a real piano once again threw her off a bit at first but overall we are very proud of her! She's the only one in her class playing from "home position" and using both hands(one at a time) to play her piece. So we are very impressed with her progress! Afterward we all went to Applebees for dinner to celebrate how well she is doing! Tuesday evening was the kids dance and tumble show! I got the kids in their "outfits" and did their hair and was getting the kids into the van when Tony got home. Both of our parents joined us there to watch the kids preform. Devin was first and other than his awe of the bright blue light shining down on him he did very well! I'm just so glad he stayed "on stage" and did anything! He was very cute! Elizabeth's class was third to last so we got to enjoy the show until it was her turn. She did so so sooooooo good!! I'm super duper proud of her performance! And both kids reported having lots of fun too! We all met at The Brick Oven for a celebratory dinner and it was not busy at all which was so nice! It was a great dinner! Thursday was Elizabeth's last day of "full time" school!(we do summer school but it's only about an hour and is mostly review so she doesn't forget what she's learned!) She's super excited for summer as we have some really fun stuff planned! Thursday evening we left the kids with my parents(who planned TONS of super fun things to do with them!) while Tony and I attended the UHEA Homeschool Convention in Provo Friday and Saturday and came home on Sunday. We really enjoyed it, and learned a lot and came out totally revved up! We were so glad to be able to attend both days this year! Enjoy the tons of pictures!
