Ok So we got home from our wonderful vacation Tuesday night and the next day I had an appointment for Elizabeth with her pediatrician. We talked about the last epic MAJOR fail in medication, and decided that maybe we needed to target the anxiety rather than the ADHD, so I agreed to give her an extremely small dose of anit-anxiety medication, in the hopes that eventually we can manage it without, but if it will help I can't deny that help to Elizabeth. The oils are helping and I think the more we learn about them and get better with using more of them I'm optimistic that she either, will not need to raise her dosage of medication, or maybe even be able to do without it all together! It was a pretty good appointment and Dr. Sandvig even agreed that with the oils she noticed a difference....it's just not enough of a difference right now. Thursday afternoon Elizabeth had a follow up appointment with her eye dr, to check on her lazy eye. We got good and bad news. Her lazy eye is a tiny bit better, but still has a way to go. The easy solution, surgically correct it.....Elizabeth FREAKED OUT! Use dilation drops along with the patching....Elizabeth absolutely REFUSED to let me put drops in her eyes everyday, and it was NOT a battle I wanted to rage every single day. So we're just going to continue to patch for another three months and hope there's enough improvement, to rule out surgery. Cause he won't let her patch forever. Elizabeth was super bummed, she really had her hopes up that she wouldn't have to wear the patch anymore, but she was more ok with that than any of the other options. Friday as I recall was just a lazy get unpacked and put back together day. I let the kids watch a movie with lunch! Oh I also got some Valentine's Day activities put together for the kids. Saturday was Valentine's day and we started the day with getting our much needed grocery shopping done. We picked up a heart shaped pizza from Papa Murphy's for our traditional dinner, then went over and let the kids try smoothies from Jamba Juice....it didn't go as well as we'd hoped, Devin hardly had any of his. Oh well at least we tried! Then we stopped by the house real fast and put away fridge and freezer food. Then we drove to Riverdale and checked out Zurcher's as Devin actually REQUESTED a birthday party(with just mommy and sissy) this year!! Which is amazing for him as the last couple years he's adamantly NOT wanted to even celebrate his birthday. Don't get me wrong he's totally good with the presents part it's the having to open them in front of everyone and having everyone paying attention to just him that he's not so fond of. So when he ASKED for a Buzz party I said ABSOLUTELY!!! And as luck would have it Zurchers had lots of fun Toy Story(Buzz) birthday stuff! Which thrilled Devin to the bone. :) Then we thought we'd check out Baby's R Us as our sit and stand stroller all but completely bit the dust during our Disneyland vacation(it's almost 4 years old and has been through A LOT in those years!!!). We decided this time we wanted to go with a side by side. And when we got over to the store we discovered they were doing their great trade in event! So we were able to trade in our sit and stand for the most wonderful side by side stroller, that I've already used several time and LOVE it so much! We also decided to finally move Elizabeth to a seat belt booster, and the one we had was really old and going to expire very soon so we traded it for a newer, nicer seat with back booster, then we moved the seat Elizabeth was using over for Devin to use, until I feel comfortable with him in a booster seat(technically he's tall and just barely heavy enough, I just don't feel he's ready to use a seat belt, he is only almost four after all). All in all we took great advantage of their great trade in event! After that we came home and did the fun Valentine's activities I'd planned and watched Valentine's Clifford episodes while eating our heart shaped pizza.(oh and they watched a Cat in the Hat Valentine's Day show my mom gave them with breakfast!) It was a great day! Sunday we organized our "under the stairs" pantry and white cabinet pantry as well. It really needed to be done! We also got caught up on some laundry and other house stuff as well.
Doing a Valentine's dot to dot
Devin lost it because I asked him to "hold his pencil the correct way". Elizabeth did great! Hers was a counting by two's one!
This is how he wanted to hold the pencil....This was a fun maze!
Doing heart-a-stack! (Devin got upset with this one too cause they would fall over....sometimes ya just can't win!)
Painting! Thanks to my mom for the fun book of these, the kids love them!
Valentine's memory!
Valentine's bingo!
Then we let them open their little Valentine's Day gifts. Elizabeth was THRILLED that hers was in a dalmation bag! And Devin was very happy with his Mickey Mouse bag.
