More Summer Fun

We haven't been up to much lately just enjoying our summer time! Tony and I did go to Desert Star last Saturday which was great! We also stopped by a DI to look for a couple things none of which we had any luck finding but no worries cause we did find the perfect Step 2 play kitchen for Elizabeth, and it was only $20!! It's in like new condition I couldn't believe not a scratch or dent on it, the stickers are all perfect not a tear or pulling up at the edge anywhere! The only thing is that the number pad for the microwave is gone. So if we can't get a replacement part then we'll just take off what's there and put number stickers on Elizabeth doesn't care! It's the perfect size, it fits perfectly in her "play corner" it was a great find! We each took a turn with a 24 hour stomach virus bug that was awful! Well except Elizabeth she threw up once on Sunday and I'm still not sure that wasn't just due to too much watermelon, but Monday Devin was throwing up a ton, and had diarrhea and looked just miserable! Tuesday Tony had it, and yesterday was my turn, NOT FUN!!...in other news Elizabeth LOVES crafts it's definitely her favorite part of the day!(and I love that you can get simple little crafts for a buck lots of places!) Oh and we had Devin's 4 month check-up Tuesday, he's a very strong boy! And right on track with everything. He has a corner of one bottom tooth through and two more bottom ones getting ready...and teething with him has not been fun! The pediatrician was amazed at how strongly he stood up, and the balance he had, she said he stood like a 6 month old, and she was very impressed at his ability to grab things he wanted and hold onto them, like oh say a stethoscope! ;) His stats were: weight 14 lbs 50%(much better!) height:...are you ready for this...26 inches!!! That's the 75th(perhaps 90th I can't remember for sure) percentile!! Oh and just for reference Elizabeth is 36 inches. His head was also in the 75%ile, as she said that's one big noggin! We may have to have a CT done she's going to see what it measures at 6 months and if we can find any relatives with "abnormally large heads" so far the only one we can think of is maybe my dad's dad. While we were there we had them weigh Elizabeth because according to our Wii fit's baby stats she's been loosing weight the past month...and sure enough she went from 33 lbs to 30 lbs in a month. Which is not okay, apparently kids her age should not be loosing weight at all, so we're going to try a few more things and take her back again in a couple weeks. Well that's pretty much it for now...we'll be doing some more fun things the next few weeks! Enjoy the pics!

Just Fun Stuff

Last Wednesday Emily the kids and I got all ready to go swimming and started to head over but we didn't get very far when we realized the rain was getting worse not better, so we decided to just head back to the house...Elizabeth was NOT ok with this however, and totally FREAKED out! Back at the house Emily came up with the great idea to go swimming in the bathtub, it took some convincing for Elizabeth to go for it but in the end it turned out to be a great solution, as the girls had lots of fun!!

Last Friday Devin had his first go at solid food, we started with simple rice cereal. He did really good with it! It took Elizabeth a while to get the hang of the swallowing thing, but Devin is natural eater!! Since then he's also had bananas and applesauce which he's also done well with.

Here are just some fun pictures of the kids I've taken and a little video of Devin rolling over. I've been trying to get one on the point and shoot(I have a few on the camcorder) to post on here but by the time I grab the camera and start recording he's already rolled over! This one is the 3rd time he'd rolled over...hence his complaining ;)

4th of July Fun

Saturday was my family's annual 4th of July BBQ, which was simple hot dogs and hamburgers this year as my parents are gearing up for a big fancy wedding dinner at the end of this month, but it was still great! We came up Friday night(to my parents house) as I still needed to finish up Devin's special outfit which was seriously trying...lets just say this was not a simple or easy to sew pattern like Elizabeth's dress was. But I got it done and it turned out pretty good, just don't look too closely at the tabs ;) It looked so cute on him though so in the end I would have to say it was worth it! I've also made a couple flower bows for Elizabeth, a pink one for our family pics, and the red white and blue one, although the red wasn't quite deep enough it was the best I could do at the time. Anywho back to the BBQ, it went great! Elizabeth loved playing in the new wading pool my parents got(we let her play in it a couple hours before the rest of the family arrived so as to make it easier to share with lots of rambunctious boys). Devin was not having a very good evening at all though! He seemed miserable alot of the time, I think from a combination of teething, being too hot and being overstimulated. But he managed a few smiles! After we ate our fill, and had some really good visit time we went to the front to do the fireworks. Elizabeth did so much better with the little street ones! I fully expected her to run into the house as soon as the first one exploded but no she actually seemed to enjoy them...except for maybe the last one which was a newly now legal ariel one that freaked everyone out! But all in all it was a great party!

This is a video of Elizabeth playing ball with my cousin Theo and my Aunt Susan, I love her little giggle!!

Monday morning was our ward's pancake breakfast. Devin was again being quite fussy so I didn't hear alot of it, but one of the sisters in our ward had her son in law who is serving in the military speak to us, and what I heard was incredible! Then we sang some patriotic songs and then the eating began! Tony was helping serve so I really appreciate all the help from the great sisters in our ward, one helped Elizabeth get a plate, and then one held screaming Devin so I could eat. I cannot even express how very much I LOVE our ward!! The Bishop's wife also took a turn calming Devin, she even wanted to feed him! And I must admit I thoroughly enjoyed the break! She and I had a good long visit! After we did the little bit of grocery shopping we needed to do, one thing we had to get was baby food, as Devin started solids last week! He loves them!! He a natural eater!! Anyway then we went back up to my parents house as we were going to hit up Layton's Liberty days but the rain deterred us, so my parents offered to take us to Corbin's for lunch which we graciously accepted! They have such amazing food! Then we went back to my parents house and played the Wii for the rest of the day...IT WAS SOOOOOO FUN! It was super nice to just kinda do nothing really, we haven't had many days like that lately! We felt kinda bad about not seeing anymore fireworks, but then on our way home you could see them the entire ride home! Perfect ending!
