Saturday was my family's annual 4th of July BBQ, which was simple hot dogs and hamburgers this year as my parents are gearing up for a big fancy wedding dinner at the end of this month, but it was still great! We came up Friday night(to my parents house) as I still needed to finish up Devin's special outfit which was seriously trying...lets just say this was not a simple or easy to sew pattern like Elizabeth's dress was. But I got it done and it turned out pretty good, just don't look too closely at the tabs ;) It looked so cute on him though so in the end I would have to say it was worth it! I've also made a couple flower bows for Elizabeth, a pink one for our family pics, and the red white and blue one, although the red wasn't quite deep enough it was the best I could do at the time. Anywho back to the BBQ, it went great! Elizabeth loved playing in the new wading pool my parents got(we let her play in it a couple hours before the rest of the family arrived so as to make it easier to share with lots of rambunctious boys). Devin was not having a very good evening at all though! He seemed miserable alot of the time, I think from a combination of teething, being too hot and being overstimulated. But he managed a few smiles! After we ate our fill, and had some really good visit time we went to the front to do the fireworks. Elizabeth did so much better with the little street ones! I fully expected her to run into the house as soon as the first one exploded but no she actually seemed to enjoy them...except for maybe the last one which was a newly now legal ariel one that freaked everyone out! But all in all it was a great party!

This is a video of Elizabeth playing ball with my cousin Theo and my Aunt Susan, I love her little giggle!!
Monday morning was our ward's pancake breakfast. Devin was again being quite fussy so I didn't hear alot of it, but one of the sisters in our ward had her son in law who is serving in the military speak to us, and what I heard was incredible! Then we sang some patriotic songs and then the eating began! Tony was helping serve so I really appreciate all the help from the great sisters in our ward, one helped Elizabeth get a plate, and then one held screaming Devin so I could eat. I cannot even express how very much I LOVE our ward!! The Bishop's wife also took a turn calming Devin, she even wanted to feed him! And I must admit I thoroughly enjoyed the break! She and I had a good long visit! After we did the little bit of grocery shopping we needed to do, one thing we had to get was baby food, as Devin started solids last week! He loves them!! He a natural eater!! Anyway then we went back up to my parents house as we were going to hit up Layton's Liberty days but the rain deterred us, so my parents offered to take us to Corbin's for lunch which we graciously accepted! They have such amazing food! Then we went back to my parents house and played the Wii for the rest of the day...IT WAS SOOOOOO FUN! It was super nice to just kinda do nothing really, we haven't had many days like that lately! We felt kinda bad about not seeing anymore fireworks, but then on our way home you could see them the entire ride home! Perfect ending!
