So this has definitely NOT been a great week! It started Wednesday. Turns out Devin has a skin allergy to milk not a digestive allergy, so he's been put back on the sensitive tummy formula but was still spitting up way too much, to the point he was spitting up clear liquid. So I called and got him in to see the pediatrician Wednesday morning. She was very concerned about the clear liquid as she suspects it's stomach acid, and was thinking about sending us to primaries for an ultrasound and scope, but since he weighed 12 pounds he's gained enough weight in the last month that he's obviously keeping enough down to thrive, so she just prescribed an acid reflux medication and we'll see how he is tomorrow, as he should be much better with it by then, if he's not she'll put him on a 2nd reflux medication and think more strongly about doing the scope. While we were there I had her look at the "rash" on Elizabeth's bum, turns out it's strep so she gave us an antibiotic for that as well. That Evening Elizabeth felt really warm so we took her temp and it was 103.5 I just figured it was from the strep and gave her motrin. That night as we were putting her to bed she looked beyond awful so I took it again and it was 103.7, so we pulled her out of bed loaded up and took her to kids care just before they closed. She coughed once and the dr knew it was croup so they gave her a dose of a steroid and sent us on our way. Thursday we went to my neurologist appointment and got great news, my spinal MRI showed no MS!! So she's chucking it up to one of those weird pregnancy things but I'm still not recovered fully as far as balance and coordination go so I'm going to go back to physical therapy for a while. Then this morning when I went to change Devin's diaper I noticed his little boy part was red and swollen so I called and talked to the nurse hoping there was just something I could do for him here but no such luck they needed to see him. Thankfully Tony's parents were able to come stay with Elizabeth while I took Devin back in. Turns out he somehow got an infection that presented itself in that special place. So we got a prescription for a cream to put on it and if it isn't all but gone tomorrow we have to take him back in. He also had a fever of 100.2, and has been asleep all afternoon, but in his defense he didn't get his long morning nap like he usually does. I also seemed to have caught a never ending cold which I've now had for a month and just can't seem to shake it. Elizabeth obviously doesn't feel good, she looks it and acts like it though she is better with motrin in her. All she's eaten the past few days is string cheese and a few crackers, although I did get some peaches in her today! But she's been drinking really well so I'm not worried. And among it all Tony and his steel immune system stand strong! Here's hoping for a better week next week, but I stand as always prepared for anything ;)
Oh and I have to mention that Devin is 3 months old today!! Today he weighed in at 12 pounds 1 ounce! I'll post the pics I hope to take later today another time.
Our sick kiddos :(
