Saturday was quite the crazy day! We had Devin's "redo" pictures in the morning...this time around, thanks to yogurt melts and having the same photographer as the week before who knew she really couldn't talk to Devin and just let us get him where she wanted him, and that him not looking right at the camera was the least of our worries, definitely helped! Tony's parents came and sat with Devin while we had Elizabeth's party. Our niece Emily came and was a big help setting up and helping keep things going. Our party or six turned into four as our niece Keira woke up sick and one of Elizabeth's friends couldn't make it due to a family party. But we still had a great time! We got the room all decorated in princess fashion then we had princess coloring pages for the girls as they showed up. Once everyone was there and done coloring, we made princess candy necklaces! They were trickier than I thought they'd be as the elastic string frayed at the end but they tasted yummy in the end all the same! Then it was time for the "pin the tail" game...we put Pascal on Rapunzel's hand. The little girls didn't like the idea of not being able to see so we just spun them and let them go! So naturally Elizabeth got it right on the mark ;) Liza(Rapunzel) just put it where she wanted, so did Lilly(Tinkerbell), Melina(Aurora) was the only one to do it the correct way and she did a really good job! After that we made our own princess wands! Then it was time for the pinata! It technically wasn't a "hitting pinata", it was one that you pulled the strings and one of the strings pulls it open...but we let the girls hit it anyway cause as Elizabeth said "that's the fun part!" then we had them pull the strings. Then we let them frost and decorate their own cupcakes and then it was present time! Elizabeth was delighted to get a little Lite Brite from her friends Liza and Lilly, and My Little Pony's Rainbow Dash, pants and a shirt from the Nester's(Ketty, Johnny, Landen and Emily), and a princess play dough set from Melina(and her family)! We gave her a princess book, Snow White socks, a Cinderella build a bear dress and shoes. The party went great and I think everyone had a good time! Oh and I guess I should mention Elizabeth went dressed as Aurora which I was actually glad for! I was afraid she'd want to wear her new Snow White dress and it would get messy. But she actually wanted to wear her pink dress so phew...crisis averted!
After her party Tony's parents gave Elizabeth their present, which was a fun little backpack and art kit! Then we threw together an overnight bag super fast and left out house in a complete mess and went up to the zoo for my mom's work party....it was CRAZY BUSY!!! I've never seen the zoo that crowded! So we just looked at some of the animals and called it good, I told Elizabeth we'd go back another time when it wasn't so crowded. The only picture we got was me and Elizabeth on the train ride back to This is the Place parking where we had to park! Then we went up to my parent's house where we watched the BYU vs U of U game....sad. And spent the night as the game ended very late. And that was our Saturday!!
