Thursday was of course Thanksgiving, which we started off by looking at the Black Friday(more like Thursday and a little Friday)ads which Tony graciously got up and got for us :) Love that man!! Then Elizabeth(who woke up WAY too early) watched a PBS special "The Cat in the Hat Knows A Lot About Christmas" Before watching the Thanksgiving Day Parade...she loved most of it, but towards the end kind of lost interest and just wanted to know when "good stuff was on", Devin even got into it quite a bit! After the parade we got dressed in our Thanksgiving attire and stopped by our place to grab a few things we'd forgotten, then after turning around to go back for binkies we were off to Tony's parents house for Thanksgiving dinner! Elizabeth had a fabulous time, and Devin did pretty good considering, he was touch and go there for a while and did end up with headphones for a bit but he never fully melted down so we called it a success! We went back up to my parent's and let Elizabeth have a piece of the pumpkin pie she helped her Aunt Ketty make, which she said was "deeeewicious!!"(I'm gonna miss it when she learns to say her "L's") Then we set the kids free to ping pong around the house while we planned our shopping adventures for the night. Tony had the most productive night going to Walmart where he got everything on our list, and Shopko where he also got what he went for and finally K Mart getting everything on the list! My mom dropped Jen(who wanted to see what "black friday" shopping was like on the other side of the register) and I off at Sears where we picked up some great deals and I got everything on my list except headphones for Devin. When we finally got checked out we went out and learned that my mom was still waiting to get in Target, so we went back in and ended up getting the head phones(YAY!). Then Jen and I had a good long chat while waiting for my mom, who also scored what she went for and something on our list as well!! I'd say it was a great night all around! We got a good a few good hours of sleep before getting up to go at it again. Where we all found fabulous deals on things we had on our lists. Jen only got one thing(or nothing) at every store...until we got to Carter's...then she made up for it!! But baby Daniel now has tons of very cute monkey clothes and stuff! I used great restraint and only got a couple things Devin desperately needed. At Kohls Jen helped out immensely by standing in the hour long line while my mom and I looked around, though I did find the cutest monkey hoodie for Daniel that Jen was all too excited for!(and we let her wander as well) I did find a long tee for Elizabeth and a long sweater too, oh and and I found a super cute sweater for myself as well! And after hours of shopping we were glad to get some lunch and go home and rest for a bit. Later that night Jen and I went out to a couple Walmarts and Jen was able to finish up her Christmas shopping! (we're not the only ones who spoil our kiddos! Jen got them some serious fun gifts that they are going to absolutely LOVE!) We too are done Christmas shopping for the kids and just about for each other as well(thanks a ton to Amazon!) And that's why I love Black Friday shopping...getting my Christmas shopping done while saving a TON!
