We had such wonderful spring like weather all this week, we absolutely LOVED it and took full advantage of it! Lets see, Monday was a typical day, we went outside and the kids played outside for over an hour! For FHE we went upstairs and helped my parents get the plant starts going, as there are big plans for their garden this year! Elizabeth was a lot of help, and really enjoyed getting to plant seeds. She's even more excited to see them starting to sprout! Tuesday was another typical day with lots of outside time in the afternoon, in the evening I left a very sad Devin with my mom while I took Elizabeth to dance and tumbling. My mom said Devin wasn't happy until Papa came home and turned the t.v. on for him....stinkers...both of them! Thursday Devin had therapy with his child development specialist, it was a pretty good session. That night we had our first Bear Scouts meeting, we did a get to know you session and it went really well! Oue kids were a bit trying at times and Elizabeth had to get her constant two cents in, but all in all I'd say it went great. For fun Friday I packed the kids a picnic lunch and we headed over to one of the many parks around us. The kids had an absolute blast! My mom met us there and kindly brought me lunch! We played there for a little over an hour, then headed back home and put Devin down for his nap. I took Elizabeth upstairs and my mom did a fun little Spanish lesson with her, which she did alright with....definitely had some focusing issues but other than that did really well. Then my mom gave us our St. Patty's little gifts and I let Elizabeth open hers right away and she was thrilled with the green My Little Pony she got! Then we went back downstairs until after snack/t.v. time, then we were back outside playing in the backyard....oh how our kids LOVE having a big backyard to run around and play in!! And we definitely take full advantage of it! That night I went out and did some much needed shopping for an upcoming holiday. ;) Saturday morning we went back out to JC Penny and got the kids Easter pictures done and some of just Devin and they did soooo good, and we got the cutest pictures of them! We came home, had lunch put Devin down for his nap then a little while later Elizabeth and I went with my parents to the Lifetime store to look at the nice big(very expensive)play sets. Elizabeth had so much fun there....it was like playground heaven! I also learned she's awesome on a wiggle car! We left with lots to think about.
And that is where I'm going to leave you, lots of fun St. Patty's stuff coming in the next post!
Elizabeth LOVES the tramp! Devin wasn't too sure about it at first.
Then he decided he'd give it a try but only if Sissy was with him. They took turns jumping(though Devin's feet never left the tramp floor!)
Here is a cute video of them taking turns jumping.
Then he decided it was safe and fun enough to do all by himself(and they are no longer allowed to be in there together anymore, we have a strict one at a time rule)
Lots more fun in the backyard!
I call this next set of pictures "An Autistic boy and his dog." Devin and Shadow have a very special relationship, it's so sweet!
In this one it so looks like Shadow is saying, "please throw the ball! PLEASE!!"
I like how they're both smiling in this one!
Planting seeds for FHE(my mom saw this system of planting on Pinterest, it makes it so you don't have to remember to water them all the time!)
Devin played with water in his "Buzz Woody" cup
Eating some of their picnic lunch on the little hill at the park on Fun Friday
We were married in the Salt Lake Temple August 4th 2006, and have only grown closer and more in love since! We welcomed our first child, Elizabeth September 12th 2008, and our second, Devin March 3rd 2011. It's been quite the journey so far with plenty of ups and downs, but we grow stronger and closer as we continue in faith.
