April Recap!

Ok we're gonna include the last week of March to start with Monday(and Wednesday) was Preschool for Devin(school for Elizabeth) and that afternoon he had OT in Bountiful. Tuesday was a typical day with piano and tumbling in the evening. Wednesday was typical too. Thursday was Elizabeth's last day in her tumbling class as she was switching to a dance/tumble class on Tuesday since she would have Girl Scouts on Thursday from then on, she was sad and excited all at the same time! That weekend we went out and looked at LOTS of model homes down closer to Tony's work where we'll most likely end up...sadly homes are cheaper up here. But it was still lots of fun to look at lots of different home out there. The next week started April! Monday and Wednesday were typical days. Tuesday was the first day of doing piano and Devin tumbling then he'd play while Elizabeth did her dance/tumble class.  She made lots of new friends and loves her class. Thursday Elizabeth's Girl Scout leader had sick kids so unfortunately it was cancelled and Elizabeth was pretty bummed. Friday morning Tony received news that his grandma had succumb to her alzheimer's disease, and passed away peacefully. One of his fondest memories is getting frosty's with her, so we went to Wendy's for dinner and all got frosty's in honor and memory of her.
That Weekend was General Conference weekend and Tony's birthday was Sunday so we celebrated Saturday. We had errands to run Saturday morning, and when we came back, the house reeked of gasoline(long story....my mom kindly lent out their gas can and they filled it too full and brought it back and it got hot and spilled out in the garage...ect you get the idea) anyway we retreated upstairs as it was a bit better up there, and Tony did some damage control, opened all the windows downstairs turned on fans ect...then as he was finishing up the awful smell was getting stronger upstairs too so we opened windows up there as well, and abandoned ship! We went over to the Syracuse Family Fun Center and let the kids play on the inflatables for a while and got some lunch.  Devin didn't last nearly as long because there were quite a few kids and he got overloaded a lot faster. So then we went to the mall and stopped by the Sleep Number bed store and took the tour...very nice beds!  WAY TOO EXPENSIVE!!! So even though our 8 year old super cheap totally worthless mattress needs to be replaced that was not an option...we figured it wasn't just wanted to check them out. After that we went to Texas Roadhouse for Tony's birthday dinner which was delicious! Sunday we watch/listened to General Conference while getting our house back in order(we had planned on doing it Saturday bit obviously couldn't. Sunday we moved some things around in the living room got the toys better organized integrated Devin's new birthday toys and even did some organizing in the kitchen! Then after Devin was down for nap we tackled the front/office/school room as it was a real disaster! But it looked great after we were done with it! That afternoon Tony's parent's stopped by on their way home(from RVing with my parents) to wish him a happy birthday and drop off his present. We had a nice visit with them. We had dinner with my parents and called it a day! The next week on Tuesday evening was Tony's grandma's viewing we made an appearance, but our kids have spent way too much time in funeral homes in the past few months so they don't do well for long, and doing it again so soon after the loss of my brother was emotionally excruciating, to be honest. Wednesday was her funeral and as much as I wanted to stay home I knew Tony needed to be there and that he wanted the kids there as well, so though I felt like I was having a heart attack the entire time and couldn't get Eric's last moments and the days that followed to stop running through my mind I managed to keep myself together by telling myself this wasn't about me and I didn't want to take away from anyone's feelings or the day....but it was NOT an easy thing for me to do, I nearly lost it when we went into the chapel but mustered up all my composure and made it. It was a beautiful service all around as she well deserved as she was a wonderful woman and I've only known her for 8 years and it was obvious the moment I met her! I tried not to be too jealous of Tony's mom getting to bury her mom with her brother and sister...something I won't be doing, as my brother and sister will already be at the cemetery. At the very nice luncheon after the dedication of the grave I couldn't help but notice the mood was much lighter and brighter than at my brother's...but then again you expect to pass away in your old age...there's a lot of life to talk about...not so much when you're only 32. Thursday evening Elizabeth had her first Daisy Girl Scout meeting and they did tie dye shirts, she loved it! They also talked about nature and spring and played a fun traditional G.S. game. She had a GREAT time! Friday was a lazy day. Saturday Landen and Emily watched out kids til Aunt Ketty got home from work, while Tony and I went to Desert Star...so much fun! Then to dinner at Olive Garden with a gift card we had. It was so nice to have some time to ourselves, we thoroughly enjoyed it! We visited with Ketty when picking up the kiddos. That Sunday my mom asked me to be her substitute teacher in Relief Society while she was out once again RVing with Tony's parents, and of course I agreed, even though we haven't been real good about going to church, and I must admit I've struggled more in the past few months with my faith than I have in my entire life pretty much combined...but I knew I needed to do this for me more than anyone and after it was over I admit I was glad I did it. Last week was a normal week...school classes, no scouts though G.S was cancelled because of some confusion and Cub Scouts was pack meeting, they were doing the Space Derby, but they didn't decide it until a few days before so it was thrown together and thrown on parents so we opted out of the madness that was sure to ensue and went to dinner at our favorite diner Sihls(not sure that's spelled right) and my parents joined us. Friday we took it easy, Elizabeth did do Spanish with my mom and some school(to catch up from taking Wednesday off), but not much else. And this is where I'll end as I will do a separate post for Bunny Day and Easter.
Sorry no pictures I'm off my game lately(and still trying to get back in)
