Downtown Disney and Fun at the Hotel Pool!

Tuesday we got up packed, checked out of the hotel and set off toward Disneyland! We made a couple stops and got to our hotel Paradise Pier just after lunch time. We got checked in, but our rooms weren't ready yet so they said they'd send my mom and I a text when they were. While we waited for the rooms we wandered Downtown Disney, which is quite magical at Christmas time! We asked about a dinner reservation at Rain Forest Cafe but they didn't have any left and the wait would have been very long for a group of 8. Devin was adamant he would not go in there as well so we decided against it for that day. We perused some of the shops, the Lego store being first, where each of the kids found a cool set. Devin got a Lego Junior Batcave and Lizzy got a Lego Friends Vet! We also went in the Ghirardelli store....yay for yummy free samples(Tony even gave me his!). Then we went to the Build a Bear store, where Devin got an Iron Man costume and slippers and that is all he wanted. Lizzy got lots of new cute matching outfits for Oscar and Olive her Bitty Twins, she even found Mickey and Minnie outfits for them! After that we headed to the World of Disney store to start looking around. We weren't there long when I got the text that our room was ready. We bout the Buzz bouncy ball Devin desperately wanted, then were on our way back to the hotel. We got our bags and got settled into the room then we got our swimsuits on and went to the pool for a fun swim. We practically had the pool to ourselves most of the time! My dad, Tony and Lizzy went on the water slide several times and reported it was lots of fun! Devin finally got to show off his "paddling" to Nana! Man am I glad I pulled him into the pool in South Dakota! He has so much fun in the pool now! The sunset was absolutely amazing! Most of us ended out pool time in the hot tub, then we went back to our rooms and got dressed again. We had dinner at the Surf side Lounge in the hotel. Lizzy almost had to me taken back to the room but Tony got her to change her bad attitude so she could stay and enjoy dinner and watching some of The Polar Express which was on the tv. After that the kids and I got ready for bed and Tony went with my dad back to Downtown Disney to the Ridemakerz store to help him build his own remote control car!

The kids watched some tv while we packed up.
