Pre-Opening of Rocky Shores!

Last Thursday we were able to go to the "pre-opening" of the new Rocky Shores section of the zoo since we have a "booster" annual pass.  Elizabeth was pretty excited to see Rizzo the Polar Bear, and he was fun to watch but she really enjoyed watching the otters play and swim.  I decided she and the otters have a lot in common, they both have tons of energy, are very playful and love to swim!  It was really nice to be able to see everything before the massive crowds consume the place!  Devin had a rough time...his anxiety of crowds seems to be getting a bit worse.  Taking him just about anywhere is becoming increasingly more difficult, he just gets set off so easily and then the screaming and squealing goes on and on and it can be really hard to get him calmed down...honestly it's getting really frustrating.  He does really love his super soft polar bear we got him though!  And Elizabeth really enjoyed herself so that was nice! She of course picked out a fun stuffed otter to take home.  We even got a free cookie on our way out that was sooo good!  All in all it was a really nice evening!
