Proud Mama Moment

So yesterday I had one of those moments where you realize that even though it doesn't seem like it, your child really is listening to you when your teaching them things. You see Elizabeth was off playing while I was just doing other things...when all the sudden I hear "perfect", "that was very nice", "great job", "that's right". Over and over and over again in a sweet Cinderella voice. So I walked over and looked behind the couch where I found Elizabeth with the new princess laptop she got from my friend Kim for her birthday, I asked "watcha doin' little girl?" Liz says "oh I'm just matching letters". "Matching letters?" I asked. "Ya mom...big ones with little ones!" She replied like it was the most obvious thing in the world. She went through the whole alphabet matching the upper case and lower case letters and only missed 3 on the first try!! I was sooooo proud!!! I guess our letter lessons have been paying off!! She only has 8 more letter sounds to pat down(remember consistently) then we're done with letters...then I guess we'll dive into numbers. It really scares me that by three and a half, she could possibly be reading first reader books, and doing addition and subtraction. And the fact that that's what they learn in Kindergarten makes me second guess my education plan for Elizabeth. I've said it before and I'll say it again...what am I gonna do with that girl?!(Brooke I know what your thinking...just home school her dang it!! And when we get back from our trip I'm definitely going to find a time to talk to you about it, cuase I'm just still not sure) I just want to do what's best for her...I really wish I knew what that was!!

That's right, just homeschool her, dang it!

Just kidding! It's a very personal decision. I believe praying about it would be a good choice. Like I've said, it isn't for everyone but I have found it to be completely rewarding for my family. It has allowed us to have opportunites that we definitely would never have had otherwise.

I would love to talk more in depth about it when and if you are ready. Any time, just let me know.
