Christmas morning was priceless this year! The kids were so excited about everything! Especially Elizabeth!! She woke up to the sound of the train playing Christmas songs going around the tree. When Tony went up to get her, she was concerned that she hadn't been good enough to stay off the naughty list...broke our hearts!! Tony told her to go downstairs and see for herself if she stayed on the nice list and see if Santa brought her what she asked for. And when she came down the stairs and saw her easel and Snow White doll, the look on her face made my whole season! I nearly cried at her innocent joy. It was cute cause Elizabeth had everything figured out even before Thanksgiving! She was going to ask Santa for an art easel and Snow White doll, Devin wanted a raceway with cars, daddy wanted new shiny tools, mommy wanted a soft purple sweater, shadow wanted a new collar, lovey wanted a purple blankie, and Oscar(her imaginary friend)wanted the Cars 2 DVD! And she informed Santa of this in a letter I made her write(cause she hates writing) we told her she could only personally ask Santa for what SHE wanted, Santa didn't need to hear to hear the entire spill. And we must have all been good enough, cause Santa delivered! Devin really enjoys his raceway as well! Santa really knows his stuff!! After checkin' out all the stuff Santa left for them we checked out our stockings. Then dove into the presents, Elizabeth did so much better with taking turns and waiting her turn this year, I was very proud of her! Thanks to alot of clearance sales and black friday deals the kiddos got pretty spoiled this year! After all the presents were opened Tony used his new griddle to make us our traditional french toast breakfast. While he was cooking I took the opportunity to go over again the real reason for the season, we talked about why we give gifts and to remember our Savior and his birth and that's what's really important. Breakfast was very delicious! Then we got ready and headed to my grandparents house, where we visited with them and some of my other family for a couple hours then we went to Tony's parents house for Christmas dinner with more family. I wish I could say it was wonderful but our kiddos were terrible!! The dinner was great very yummy! After that it went downhill, Elizabeth threw fits about EVERYTHING and sometimes nothing! Devin was beyond over tired and far too over stimulated and ornery! I finally got him asleep but it's never been so hard! On the upside she got a nice big super soft princess blanket(with Snow White on it!!)from her great grandma Johnston, and a gift card to Wendy's. She really needed a bigger blanket! By the end of the night though it DID NOT feel like the most wonderful time of the year! But really it was a great(just long)day!!
