Christmas Eve!
Saturday morning we got up nice and early so we could be ready and up to my parent's house by 9am, and we even managed to be there about 15 minutes early!! We had it a bit earlier this year as poor Jen had to work at 11:30. We had our traditional Southern breakfast of grits, ham, toast and jambalaya...yummy!! Then we dove right into presents as time was of the essence. Elizabeth was totally fine with this! We gave out our gifts first. We got my parents photo gifts...a family picture in a snowglobe and magnet, a picture of the kids in an ornament and key chain. We also gave them 5x7 collages of family and kiddo pictures. We gave Eric and Jen an ornament with baby Daniel's ultrasound picture that says "all we want for Christmas is you!"...knew they'd like it! ;) The most popular present from my parents(for Eric at least)was a set of onsies for Daniel, my mom had a friend embroider with super cute "techie" sayings...like "my high chair is wi-fi enabled", "tiny techie" and "my dad can hack your dad's computer", along with a couple others I can't remember. We got some money to go towards a season pass to the zoo! We also got other little things as well. They got Elizabeth some fun paint stuff(to go with the art easel she asked Santa for) along with a Snow White shirt and jacket, her reaction to opening up that was priceless!! She also got a Leapfrog Scribble and Write to help with her least favorite subject...writing! And some other little things too. They got Devin a learn and play table to help him with his standing, and some other fun little toys. Santa's elves gave us all pj's, Elizabeth's were a two piece, pink with Santas' all over them. She also got cute princess boot slippers, and a princess stories book that played music! Devin's were a sleep and play with red and green Santas' all over them and Santa heads on the feet along with some green Santa slippers and a soft bedtime book. Tony got a Santa suit t-shirt and brown slippers and good book, I got fleece pj pants with a t-shirt with Santas' on it, brown slippers and a book entitled "Your Happily Ever After". Gotta love them elves!! My Uncle Chester sent the kids presents too! Elizabeth got a horse and cowgirl set, and a cute pink shirt with black leggings outfit! Devin got a glow worm and football sweats outfit! They're wearing the outfits today and they're so cute! Then Jen had to go off to work :( and Eric did some shopping, came back to the house and wrapped it, just to have it tore into minutes later! ;) He scored big with both kiddos! Elizabeth got the Littlest Pet Shop tree house, and a set of little animal friends to go with it. Devin got the Laugh and Learn laptop...which we knew he would love as he won't leave ours alone! They both loved their gifts and were set to play for a while! Eric got us a gift card to some restaurants, which is always gratefully appreciated! Then we visited for a while until Eric had to go to another party. Then my parent's kindly watched the kids for us while we finally went to see Breaking Dawn, which I liked alot! Then we came home and got ready for Santa's visit...we set out his cookie and milk, carrots and water for the reindeer. put his special key on the door so he'd be able to get in, and did the advent calendars. Then it was off to bed!
