Devin's First Birthday!!!
Saturday March 3rd our handsome little buddy, Devin, turned ONE!! The time went by so fast, I can hardly believe it! He is such a sweet boy, and such a special part of our family! We can't imagine our life without him! We started the day by getting his pictures taken at JCPenny. He wasn't in the best mood, so getting the good pictures we got took alot of work...I was literally sweating. He did not want to be put down...he did not want us to take his binky away...and getting him to smile took serious work! But thanks to all our hard work(and some great "props" we brought)we got plenty of really cute pictures. We brought Elizabeth in her Easter dress and changed Devin into his Easter outfit and since we were there we got some really cute Easter pictures as well. They looked so absolutely adorable in their outfits!! We even got a couple super cute ones of just Elizabeth. Then we stopped by the party store on our way home and filled all the balloons, then got home and put Devin down for a nap. Tony took Elizabeth to run a couple errands and get some lunch...speaking of lunch, Elizabeth had her first cheeseburger, per her request, for lunch and she actually ate about 1/4th of it! Until now she's only ever wanted chicken nuggets so this was a big step for her! Anywho...my parents came down in the afternoon to visit, and Eric and Jen came down a couple hours later so Tony could change the breaks on their car(which turned out to be more work than as originally thought it would be) later my mom stayed with Devin while he napped and Tony and I went over to the church to start decorating for the party. Devin didn't so much care for his party. Not like Elizabeth who knew just what to do, sat there the whole time and opened her presents and played with a few of them...Devin got frustrated, and kept trying to crawl away, he didn't really want to have anything to do with opening his presents, though he didn't mind playing with the ones he could! He did pretty good with his little football cake, at first he wasn't too sure about it, but given time he pretty much ate the whole thing! Devin(unlike Elizabeth)isn't a big fan of lots of attention, he tends to shy away alot easier, whereas Elizabeth seems to welcome it. So with that in mind I think he enjoyed his birthday well enough! He sure is having fun with all his new toys! His 1 year check-up is tomorrow I'm excited to see what his stats are, well except for maybe his head stat...I'm kinda nervous for that one, but I have to believe everything will work out for the best! I'm anxious to talk to his doctor about his learning difficulties as well, and see what her input on it is. I have this nasty feeling I'm going to end up taking him up to primaries for something after I talk to her...but se la vi right? Well at least such is MY life! As long as it's in my kids best interest I'll do whatever it is I need to do! Enjoy the pictures!
