Last Friday Devin had PT(physical therapy) and SP(speech therapy), he did awesome in PT, he was cruising along everything! He even stood by himself for a couple seconds! His walking is still kinda tight so I'm doing alot of walking practice with him, with his walker toy and just holding onto my fingers. SP is slow going. The main concern during that session was that right in the middle of playing with one of his toys he just stopped and completely zoned out. He didn't even respond to us calling his name or snapping our fingers right in front of him. She said that it very well may have been a seizure, and to record the date and time whenever he does that, and that his pediatrician is most likely going to want to have that checked out. It only lasted a minute or so but is was weird and a bit unnerving. We've seen him do it a couple times in the past week. Saturday afternoon we had our nephews Oscar and Aaron's birthday party. Elizabeth was really excited to give Oscar the basketball he asked us to get him, and as we left we saw him and some of our other nephews and niece playing at the court next to their house! Gotta love that!
Sunday we tried to have Elizabeth let Lovey stay with us while she was in primary....this went VERY BADLY!!! You would have thought we were murdering her! She was screaming like mad...and fell to the floor. I finally got her to class and told them to try and distract her but if she didn't relent in a few minutes to just come get Lovey...which they did. FAIL!! But we're going to try again next week. Monday Devin woke up with sick coming out of both ends, it was NOT FUN! He was so miserable, it was so sad, but I sure loved the constant cuddles I got! So Tony took Elizabeth to gymnastics and I stayed home and cuddled with him. :) Tuesday evening Elizabeth got it and Wednesday Tony and I got it. It was a nasty 24 hour stomach flu bug!!
Last weeks school lesson was on healthy teeth and going to the dentist. Now she's actually excited to go to the dentist and I tried really hard not to crush that with my own phobic fear of the dentist. She liked the lesson more than I thought she would, and she genuinely enjoyed learning about her teeth and how to take care of them, she asks me all the time now, "can you see any pwack on my teeth? I tried to brush it all off!" This week we talked about President's Day...she gets it really well but honestly just doesn't really care for it. How do I know? Well maybe cause she told me today,"it's nice to know about presidents mom, but this isn't the best lesson we've had. What are we learning about next week...I hope it's better than presidents." LOL I couldn't help but laugh! Guess this was a good week to be sick as we only had like two real sit down lessons! Apparently that was enough! When I informed her that next week we'll be learning about maps though she perked right up. She's also quite excited it's now March, as there's only two more months til Disneyland!! She talks about Disneyland ALL...THE...TIME!! She is completely beyond excited about it! She knows more about Disneyland at three than I did at 18, no joke! She reads about it, she watches shows about it on netflix and the internet, she's taking her "research project"(as I like to call it) very very seriously! ;)
Today Devin had SP again as he didn't do so well last week. She did an evaluation on him, and it looks like we may be looking into autism of some form, and adding even more therapy for him in the form of occupational therapy. We're going to see what his pediatrician thinks of the results and possibly some future tests. We seem to have hit a "not understanding wall" with him and we just don't seem to be able to break through it. So I guess we'll see where that goes.
The past couple days Elizabeth has been having tons of fun playing in the snow we've been getting. She's totally in heaven with it! So I have lots of fun pictures and some videos of that!
Here are the many fun videos of Elizabeth playing in the snow.
