A Kinda Busy Week

I just can't seem to get on top of things lately!  So much to do so little time!  So here is the post for last week.  Monday for lunch I was joined by a good friend from my Weber State days, miss Heather Marie.  We had a great time chatting, I love catching up with friends! She made my day...and even my week! That evening Elizabeth was supposed to start her swimming lessons, so we got her all ready, got there and found out I remembered the time wrong...in fact I had looked at the end time, not the beginning time, so we got there just before it ended.  FAIL!!  Elizabeth was SO sad, and I felt so terrible.  So to make up for it the best we could, we went upstairs to see if Papa would let her "swim" in his big tub, which he agreed to, and it made Elizabeth feel better.  Tuesday Devin had play project therapy, and that evening Elizabeth had dance and tumbling.  Wednesday Devin started a social/sensory playgroup, my great cousin Mary came and played with Elizabeth while we were off doing that.  Devin did pretty good, as long as no one was anywhere near him or made him do anything. ;) Wednesday evening we made it to swimming lessons, and they are just the type of lessons Elizabeth needs!  The fist thing they did was dunk them underwater!  It took Elizabeth off guard but after doing it a couple more times she was good with it.  She's still pretty stiff when floating on her back, but she's finally comfortable putting and holding her head underwater so I'll take it!  Thursday I woke up not feeling good, but I had so much to do, I didn't get much of a sick day.  I had lots of laundry to do, I had to call and schedule Devin's follow up psych evaluation, for July, and his feeding therapy at Primary Children's outpatient building in Bountiful.  That evening we had scout meeting which went really well. Friday morning my mom and I put the "cute cottage" cover thing on Elizabeth's loft bed.  My mom found it for a great price and picked it up for her...such a loved little girl!  It is way cute and goes really well in her room!  She was so super excited about it, and loves it!  Then my mom stayed and we visited until lunch time.  After lunch and putting Devin down for his nap, Elizabeth went upstairs and did a Spanish lesson with my mom. She was reported as doing awesome...yay!  That evening we went out and wandered through a couple Ivory Homes Model homes.  This may sound silly or even backwards...but it really centers and focuses us on our ultimate goal.  Seeing what we could have really motivates us to watch our spending...all the money we don't spend on things now is money that gets us closer to our dream of being able to build a home we love.  And we just really enjoy looking through model homes!  On our way home we stopped by Big 5 as Tony was in desperate need of new shoes.  He found a couple good inexpensive pairs(one for work one for camping, hiking and such), then we found the camp stove we were planning on getting him for his birthday, as my parents agreed to give him cash to put toward it. It was the best price we'd seen so we picked it up too.  Then we saw they had some really nice sleeping bags on sale for $30 each....and we've been looking at getting a double sleeping bag, but they're so expensive!!  So for $60 we made our own double sleeping bag. :)  Then to top off our great deals, we noticed on our way to check out that they had a 10% off your total purchase coupon when you signed up for their email club thing.  So Tony asked if they would give us the discount now and they agreed!  So not only was everything we bought a great price on sale, but it was all 10% off as well! Yay for saving money!!  Saturday Tony and my dad worked out in the backyard, getting it cleaned up and getting a spot cleared for all the kids fun summer toys.  The sandbox, water table, castle climber and trampoline. Combine all those with my parent's swing set and they have endless fun written all over this summer!  That evening my parent's took us to dinner at Famous Daves to celebrate Tony's birthday, Eric and Jen joined us there.  It was YUMMY!!  Tony said it hit the spot.  Sunday the kids got to wear their good lookin' Easter clothes to church.  We survived sacrament meeting without too much trouble though I did have to have some stern words with Elizabeth to achieve a reasonable reverence level.  Devin did ok, he didn't want to play, but he didn't scream and have to be taken out so, we'll take it.  After Sunday School one of the sister's came and told me that there were a lot of upset kids in nursery and Devin seemed concerned and was starting to loose it. Just as we decided to see if he could make it without me coming to get him and she left, I heard Devin's screams outside the door, so I ducked out.  His favorite nursery leader was holding a very upset Devin.  She told me they were going to have a popcorn party later so to bring him back to nursery in 15 minutes.  He came and sat with me for the beginning of Relief Society and calmed down.  Then I took him back just as they were getting the popcorn going, and he was fine with staying. ;)  Elizabeth was reported as doing pretty well in primary, she was excited to tell us that she said the closing prayer all by herself, and that they told her she did a really good job!  Too cute!  We went from church staight to Tony's parents house and changed out of our nice clothes there.  His parents made homemade lasagna to celebrate his and his brother's birthdays.  It was soooo good!!  Elizabeth really enjoyed getting to play with her cousin Melina, and Devin did pretty good keeping to himself!  He did surprise us by keeping his pull-up dry and going potty at their house a couple times!  Tony's parents gave him a nice new Y ball cap, and polo shirt, both were very much needed and appreciated!  It was a great night!  And that was the week!
