A Day in Cardston!
This morning we dropped off my parents at the Cardston Temple to do a session there, meanwhile we took the kids and wandered in and out of shops along the historic main street. We started at the Cardston Bookstore where we found a couple Anita Stansfield books on clearance, and a book that looked good for Tony as well! At the Dollar Store and More we got the kids plastic play hockey sticks with pucks, and play Canadian money...oh and a hockey bib for Devin. We also found a couple souvenir shirts for Tony, and one for Liz and Devin as well...but no luck in my department. We converted our American money to Canadian at a local bank there...that was sad.(Their dollar is worth a little more than ours) Then we went back to the temple, met up with my parents and got picture around the temple, it is my favorite temple after all!! Then we went to the Remington Carriage Museum, we had lunch first where my dad got The Wagon Master(a one pound cheeseburger with lots of fries and a side salad...ya know just for good measure) Oh and ya he ate all of it in this one sitting!!! So what did he get!?...why a piece of apple pie of course!!(which he also devoured...he did not need dinner.) We also of course had to get poutine!! MMMmmmm!! Then we walked it off going through the museum which really was amazing! There were hundreds of different kinds of carriages...it was so cool!! There were lots of fun things for Elizabeth and she just drank it all up!! She really thought she was winning a wagon race and taking a buggy(caboose technically...but she insisted it was a buggy sooo..)to school. TONS OF FUN!!! After the museum we stopped the local IGA and got some ketchup potato chips and yummy chocolate bars for enjoying tonight! Then we came back to the motorhome and crashed...or at least my parents did and we would have if it weren't for our energetic children. Elizabeth was asking all day to go back and play at the playground and she had a grand old time for over 2 hours!! She "said" she wanted to go on the "wagon ride" they offered to take her on but that lasted about 50 feet...then she was done, apparently the lawn mower was too loud and being the only one just wasn't what she had in mind! But they still gave her the after ride treat, a what we call otter pop(they do not). We may watch a movie after dinner but all in all I think that's pretty much it for today! Tomorrow we head to Calgary!!
