Elizabeth's 3rd Birthday!!!

I really wanted to post this ON Elizabeth's birthday (Sept. 12th) but we couldn't get connected to the internet...GRRR. So the 12th was Elizabeth's THIRD birthday!! We took her to the Calgary Zoo, which is huge and really nice! She LOVED it...it was such a hit! We were a little worried as it clouded up the night before and looked like it could rain, fortunately it never did but it was kinda cold and overcast, but I think that helped keep the crowds away which was nice! The Zoo is so big you go across a bridge over the Bow River to get to part of it. Oh and they luckily had the dinosaur exhibit in a whole separate part of the zoo so we just didn't go to that part and all was well! Elizabeth loved everything...she was really soaking it all in. They had a butterfly place and you could see actual butterfly cocoons I showed them to her and told her that's a cocoon and she said "where caterpillars turn into butterflies!" I said yes indeed and she said "that's so cool!!" Totally made my day! It was a really great way to spend her birthday and she felt so special. She wore her birthday girl shirt(luckily I packed the long sleeve one we found on clearance last year) and so she got wished happy birthday a again and again, and she was tickled pink every time! I can't believe my little girl is getting so big, and grown up, we love her so very very much!! By the end we totally wore both kids right out! It was a very fun and special thing for Elizabeth!

For dinner we made English muffin pizzas which she loves cause she gets to make her very own...just the way she wants it! After we had a couple presents for her to open. We just gave her a back of little dollar store finds we knew she'd like. My mom gave her lots of super cute outfits! My mom baked a vanilla cake with strawberry frosting and three candles...we sang to Elizabeth(which she just couldn't wait for...she kept asking when we were going to do it :) she blew her candles right out and LOVED her pink strawberry cake!! Oh I almost forgot! While she does her breathing treatment in the morning we let her watch a 20 or so minute show, when we asked her what she wanted to watch she told us a birthday Dora. I started telling her we didn't have one, but she insisted we did...then I remembered about a Dora Fiesta dvd we had and as luck would have it(somehow I swear she knew it was on there...I have no clue how, but I swear she did!)there was an episode about Boot's Special Day!! YAY crisis averted! All in all Elizabeth had the best birthday ever!! She loves that she got to be in Canada and go to the zoo with mommy, daddy, Devin, nana AND papa!! GREAT DAY for Elizabeth!
